Help Wanted – Assistant Town Engineer

Town of Batavia seeks a full-time Assistant Town Engineer:

The incumbent employee will:

  • Plan, supervise, and participate in all field survey work to determine grades, alignments, curbs, bearings, right of way, and drainage.
  • Make a variety of engineering computations, draft plans and specifications for road, street, water, wastewater, and other public work projects as well as inspect other public works project to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Prepare a variety of reports on costs of projects.
  • Assist in planning of capital construction projects, asset management of Town’s infrastructure, various public infrastructure designs, and engineering studies.

The minimum qualifications and experience for the position are:

  • High School: 4 years completed.
  • College: 2 years completed, 4 years preferred, with specialization in civil engineering.
  • Experience: 15 years with specialization in civil and transportation engineering.

Typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. M-F. The salary for this position will be based on experience.
