Ellicott Trail

The Ellicott trail begins on Route 33 near the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and extends easterly for 5 miles through the City and Town of Batavia to its terminus at Seven Springs Road. The trail provides a pedestrian friendly alternative mode of transportation through the City and Town connecting recreational, historical, commercial and residential areas in the City and Town. The trail provides a meandering route through Batavia connecting Williams Park on the east and Dewitt Park on the west side of the City. The trail also traverses through the historic Elmwood Cemetery and along beautiful sections of historic rail road beds. The majority of the 10 ft. wide stone dust trail is on old rail road beds and is connected with some on-road sections. The trail cost $1.7 million to build. Funding for the project was provided by the New York State Department of Transportation, State of New York, City and Town of Batavia.
